There are a handful of different types of cleaning services that are available for homes in the Cincinnati and Northern KY area. These services fall under regular cleaning, one-time cleaning, and move-in/move-out cleaning.
Scheduled Cleaning Services
The most common cleaning service requested is a regularly schedule cleaning appointment. Usually set up for weekly, biweekly, and monthly (every four weeks), this cleaning service has the same maids visiting you home and tidying up on a regularly scheduled basis. This service helps you have a clean and neat home without you ever needing to bother with the chore (well, you may still want to take care of spills and emergencies when they occur). Typically, the more frequent you schedule service, the lower cost and quicker each individual appointment will be.
Most cleaning companies have a basic list of services, including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and thorough cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms they will perform with every visit, unless you specify otherwise. Additional specific cleaning chores can be added with every appointment, or on a one-time basis – things like refrigerator or oven cleaning, loading the dishwasher, or starting dirty laundry. When requesting a quote, be sure to get a detailed list of what will be cleaned with every appointment, as well as options on additional services you me want on a regular or occasional basis.
Remember that when starting a regular cleaning service, there will often be a higher, one-time charge for the first cleaning unless you are switching services or have kept a very tidy home to begin with.
Maybe you have a party coming up, or just had one that left a mess that you don’t want to deal with. Or its just time for a break from taking care of cleaning yourself and you want someone else to be on the job. Many companies offer one-time cleaning for any reason you might have. One time cleanings can do as much or as little as you like. Most services will provide you a list of services they provide with every cleaning, and of course you can add individual tasks that you want to have done (note that not all cleaning companies will do things like oven or refrigerator cleaning).
With one-time cleaning, the cost and length of cleaning is typically more than a comparable place will cost that has regular cleaning. This is because the cleaners will not be familiar with your house and the services that need performed, and thus will need to take a longer time to do their job.
If you are getting a one-time clean, determine if you need everything cleaned or you just want some help with the work. If you just want a maid service to help out, many places offer a “priority list” service, where you buy a block of time and the cleaners will go down you list of cleaning priorities, getting as much done as possible in the time you bought.
Move-in or move-out cleanings are a special version of one-time cleanings. With this service, most or all furniture and personal items should be removed from the residence. This service often includes, or requires, oven and refrigerator cleaning and sometimes will include carpet cleaning and stain removal services, depending on the company. If you are getting a move-in/out cleaning for a rental, make sure you check your lease to see if carpet cleaning is required as most maid services do not offer this.
This service tends to focus on getting floors and surfaces clean for new occupants, rather than tidying up, taking out trash, and other common services you have with normal residential cleaning. As a result, the prices and time required are less than a normal one-time service, though sometimes are more than regular cleaning.
